Porcelain and Earthenware clays are used either thrown, handbuilt or slip-cast. Underglaze colours sgraffitoed, and lustres are often applied. Crystals and mosaics are sometimes added to the final pieces to add depth, dimension, richness and contrast of surfaces. The pieces range in scale, fulfilling roles as functional, decorative, sculptural or ceremonial objects.
